Kindergarten magnet lottery opens Nov. 3—come discover the fun of learning

At Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale), kindergarten is a wonderful time to discover that learning is fun! Every one of our neighborhood schools offers caring teachers, engaging classrooms, and hands-on experiences that help our youngest learners thrive.

For families interested in our magnet elementary programs at FAIR School Pilgrim Lane, Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School (RSI), or the School of Engineering and Arts (SEA), the kindergarten magnet lottery for the 2026-27 school year opens Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, and closes Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. Apply here once the application window opens.

Children entering kindergarten must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2026.

Families who apply will receive lottery results by email and may also check results on the magnet lottery website beginning Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026. Families have until Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, to accept their placement. If a spot is declined, families on the waitlist will be contacted weekly as seats become available.
