SUN Bucks is back: help your child access summer food benefits

This summer, eligible families can receive up to $120 per child through the Summer EBT program—now called SUN Bucks. This federally funded program provides income-based food support to help kids stay healthy when school is out.

Here’s how it works:

Families receive $40 per month per child, loaded onto an EBT card that can be used to buy groceries. Most families who already qualify for free or reduced-price school meals will be automatically enrolled, including those participating in SNAP, MFIP, Medicaid, or foster care. Benefits are issued by the State of Minnesota and must be used within 122 days.

What you need to do:

Log in to Parent Portal today and make sure your mailing address is correct.
📄 If your address has changed, you must complete an address change form and upload proof of residency to ensure your EBT card arrives on time.

More details will be shared by the Minnesota Department of Education later this spring. For now, double-check your contact info and help your child get the support they deserve this summer.
