Phy Ed Updates from Mr. Scheller

Phy Ed Updates from Mr. Scheller

It has been an excellent start to the school year in Physical Education! I am thrilled to see all of our students so engaged and enthusiastic about staying active. So far, we have focused on developing key areas such as muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, soccer-related skills, and various throwing and catching activities. It's been a fun and action-packed start, and the students are already showing great progress!

As we continue to prioritize physical activity, I want to remind all families to please ensure that students have an extra pair of gym shoes for PE class. Proper footwear is essential for safety and comfort during our activities.

Additionally, with the goal of keeping our students healthy and active, I encourage families to make time for physical activity outside of school. The doctor-recommended guideline is at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day, and there are plenty of ways to stay active, even in an urban environment! Some ideas include:

  • Walking or biking to a local park for a fun outdoor adventure.
  • Playing a game of catch with a ball or frisbee.
  • Taking the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.
  • Dancing to music at home or even creating a mini dance party.
  • Participating in online fitness videos or challenges that are family-friendly.

If you have any questions or would like more information on how to keep your child active, please feel free to reach out!

Let’s keep up the great work and keep moving!

Best regards,
Mr. Scheller
